We are a non-auditioned choir that is part of a joyous, cooperative learning culture. We are joined by our love of choral music, our commitment to excellence, and our desire to share our music at both public concerts and in the community. We strive to be the best we can be!
Regular weekly rehearsals are on Monday evenings 7:30 – 9:30 PM at Grace Church on-the Hill, 300 Lonsdale Road. Sectional rehearsals are scheduled each term as needed after polling the preferences of each section. Attendance at the final 3 rehearsals before each of the 2 main public concerts is mandatory if a singer is to participate in the public concert.
Every Fall, there is a full day Choir Retreat that provides an opportunity to focus on specific vocal and musical goals. In January and February, sectional workshops are offered that target specific vocal issues within each section and work to improve sight reading and ear training skills.
Our Spring concert, The Magic of Music will be on Friday, May 11 at 8 PM at Grace Church on-the-Hill.
We currently have openings for first sopranos, tenors, and basses.
Membership fees are $190 per term. The fall term is September through January; the spring term is February through May. Students 30 years old and younger pay $95 a term. Membership fees for couples are $285 per couple. This includes a full day retreat in the Fall term. Those in financial need can contact the Board for special consideration.
The black binders we use for our music can be purchased from the choir for $35.
Any donation above the regular membership fee is eligible for a tax receipt. We rely on the generous donations of our membership to help us achieve our goals.
